John 7:38-39 (KJV)
³⁸He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. ³⁹(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
The living water Jesus was referring to is the Holy Spirit. The Father gives or pours out His Spirit upon every believer of Jesus Christ. What about the flow of rivers out of the belly of a person? A river is an abundant collection of continuously flowing water. The flowing of the rivers of living waters describes various ways in which the Holy Spirit expresses Himself from within the innermost being of the believer.
If we truly believe in Jesus, the result is that rivers of living water flow from us. You cannot have a desert where living water flows; the land around it must be transformed.
God wants you to give expression to the Holy Spirit. His power is inside of your spirit. You can experience it personally, and that is wonderful but not sufficient. He wants that power to be expressed through you in other words to flow out of you and into those around you. People can see or be touched by the Holy Spirit through physical contact, observed behavior, or spoken words.
Whenever you enter any environment or once you show up, darkness is dispelled, and the light of God is established. This is because of the power of the Holy Spirit, which is in you, that same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in you. Jesus said, “It is the spirit that quickeneth… that brings to life or makes alive (John 6:63). Therefore, when you lay hands on someone or declare healing to them, they are healed. That is the tangible expression of the invisible power of God in you.
Paul says in 2 Corinthians 3:6
⁶Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
The Lord has called and qualified us to minister by the Spirit. His Spirit working through us transforms the lives of those we encounter. Therefore, as a believer and minister, you must manifest the life of God. Rivers of power, prosperity, wisdom, love, grace, etc. must flow out of you to those around you!
Prophet Ezekiel spoke of this river, the same river of the Spirit, flowing with dramatic results;
Ezekiel 47:8-9
⁸Then he said to me: “This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the [b]valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed. ⁹And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever [c]the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes.
As the river was flowing and as soon as it touched dead fish, the fish were leaping back to life. What does that mean? Dead bodies will come to live by healing as the rivers of living waves gush out of us. People with sickness, depression, anxiety, or fear will bounce back to joy, peace, and life; addictions of whatever kind will lose their grip on people. So, how is the river flowing from you impacting your world? Does your presence in your world make any difference?
Studies show that a river slows and may appear to move sluggishly near the end of its journey. Therefore, we ought to remain connected to our source to be rejuvenated and unceasingly flow consistently. Grow in your fellowship with the Holy Spirit, be fully yielded and submitted to Him.
Jesus said in John 15:4
⁴Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
God is calling us to yield to His voice, to obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit when He directs us to act on His behalf.
Prophetic Utterance:
I am abundantly filled with the fatness of God’s house and the river of his pleasures. I have a limitless reservoir, on the inside of me, empowering me to do the good works, which He prepared in advance for me to do. I give life to everything that concerns me and around me.

Revelation 22:1-2
²And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
²In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Psalm 36:7-8
⁷How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
⁸They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
