1 Corinthians 2:16
¹⁶For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
“But we have the mind of Christ!” Isn’t that beautiful that we as believers being ingrafted in Christ now by the aid of the Holy Spirit can perceive the mind of Christ which means we also have the mind of Christ?
Today as Holy Spirit-filled Christians, we have desires and thoughts that are in line with the word of God. At times, we are tempted to think it is beyond our reach, or it is merely a thought but what if, God is speaking His will through your desires and thoughts. What if it is God prompting you to detach from certain things or want a better life, to buy that land, to build a bigger house, to apply for a better job, to preach the gospel to that stranger seated next to you on the bus? His mind is to align us with His purpose. What is it that drove Moses to come to the aid of Israel as they cried out to God in their captivity, what is it that made Martha know and perceive that Christ would have done something to save Lazarus from dying? It is the mind of Christ in us, God at work in us to fulfil His purpose, the will and to do.
Notice that in Jesus’ ministry, the spirit always led him as seen in John 5:19
John 5:19
¹⁹Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth,
these also doeth the Son likewise.
The mind of the spirit inspired everything that Jesus did, every word and deed. So therefore, if we have Christ and the Holy Spirit, how much more can we ignore our renewed Mind!
Scripture proceeds to say that it is He that gives us the will and ability to do and thus that which you think is His idea for you to act on and that He gives you the ability to also do it.
Romans 8:14
¹⁴For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
After knowing that we are the sons of God and are led by the Spirit of God, our influence as believers is the spirit of God. He leads, He guides, and directs our thoughts to align with His purpose, filling us with the wisdom of God just as Jesus did and still does the will and desire of His Father in heaven, we should equally not ignore the desires and leadings of our father who has made us a new creation with the mind of Christ.
1 John 4:17
¹⁷Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.”
Prophetic Utterance:
I am a new creation; I bear the mind of Christ!
As Jesus is, so am I in this world!
My thoughts are an extension of the desires of God by the Holy Spirit!
