Authority speaks for itself

Mark 1:22-26
²²And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.²³And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,²⁴Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.²⁵And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.²⁶And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

The word authority carries with it an implication of power, jurisdiction, strength, delegated influence. Literally, Authority is the right to command and direct, the ability to be listened to and be obeyed as the centurion showed when He acknowledged Jesus’s authority!

Mathew 8:5-10
⁵ When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. ⁶“Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” ⁷Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?” ⁸The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.⁹For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.¹⁰When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

The scribes were writers of the Law, educated in the law and the Pharisees-(Separated ones) a strict religious sect of Jews , despised others, and took themselves above the rest.
Authority, does it need a loud voice? I have seen some raise their voices unnecessarily. You don’t need to raise your voice to show the depth of your authority, more so use a certain tone, if the president speaks, He speaks once, in a normal tone, He says and it is heard and done.
The prophets that saw Elisha after the departure of Elijah bowed down in reverence, did Elisha call for that?? No, authority spoke for itself!!

2 Kings 2:15
And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

When Simon’s mother in-law was with a fever, some versions say Jesus rebuked the fever but John says, the fever left when Jesus took her hand, His presence spoke in authority, when Jesus was teaching without a word, a demon manifested in fear, and Jesus spoke one word : Be silent and come out of Him and so it was which caused a bewilderment to those who were listening!!

What manner of man is this that He teaches with authority!! Come to think of it, why didn’t they refer to the Pharisees as the ones teaching with authority, they that used to show off authority but were void of it.

It was noticed, it was evidenced, Jesus didn’t make a show of His authority, it is rather the people that noticed. Even the centurion!!
I have seen men raise their voice to proof a point, I have seen men make a show off of authority, some in beating their wives just to prove a point, and men make comparisons of themselves with other men in terms of authority saying; I speak and things be, I chase demons and they fly, I would rather people see and know it than you boasting forth. Even when the Pharisees tried him to speak for His authority, He didn’t give Himself any defense.

Is authority evident in your actions, words or knowledge? To speak loud is not authority, to raise a hand is totally off, to speak with knowledge fueled by grace will with deep persuasion cause men to yield to authority. Jesus spoke words that left many speechless, even His arrestors were captivated by His words, even demons heard and obeyed, sickness , fever , wind , basically all heard His voice, and obeyed!!

John 7:45-46
⁴⁵Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him? ⁴⁶The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.

But where did His authority come from? The word. It is written, He spoke as He heard from the father!!

John:1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

This word is what we ought to speak but exceeding mere knowledge, it has to be deeply perceived and from deep within, that if you are speaking of healing, you are the healing, the scribes, Pharisees just had knowledge and taught tradition, but were far from perception.

Luke 10:19
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

We have been given authority, nevertheless you don’t need to take poison to show that you have authority, neither physically trample on snakes to make a public show of it , rather be the authority that when you speak it is just as it is, you as His signet ring, a display of His power, that when you speak, it is just as it is said, a voice of God.

Snippet:
Stop sweating after the Terror of Dreams, King remains a King at all times, exercise Your authority.

Prophetic Utterance:

The eyes of my heart are enlightened to know the hope to which He has called me, His glorious inheritance, and His incomparably great power for us who believe, a working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised him from the dead and seated him at His right hand in the heavenly realms….
Halleluya.

Mark 11:27-30
²⁷And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders, ²⁸And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things? ²⁹And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. ³⁰The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me. ³¹And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him? ³²But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.³³And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
