Acts 17:28
“For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.”
For we are also his offspring: “The Aramaic implies that our nature comes from Him, the Greek is genos which means kindred or family. We are His off spring, taken from His genes thus it is God’s being that defines who we are, not circumstance nor empty talk or irrelevant self view.
Genesis:1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Many move with a misplaced identity forgetting their creator, their origin! We rely so much on what people say and what circumstances say but forget the true definition of self, Naomi deemed herself bitter due to her circumstance ( Ruth 1:20 And she said unto them, Call me not Naomi, call me Mara: for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me).
It is written that In Him we live and move and have our being!! We have our being in Him, He makes You, nothing else does, not what people say about you, not even your past failures or your current status, rather It is Christ that defines You.
2 Chronicles 26:23
[23]So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the burial field of the kings [outside the royal tombs], for they said, He is a leper. Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
It is written that when Uzziah died , people said He died as a leper, a disease that is symbolic of sin, the sin that isolates us, and that Tamar prostituted herself to sleep with her father in-law ( Gen 38:11-14) but it’s amazing how that when we look at Jesus’ genealogy ( Mathew 1:3,9) and see that He is traced through these very imperfect people, people deemed worthless but nevertheless in their lineage was a trace of perfection. Like Job says ; He brings a pure thing from an impure thing.
Job 14:4
“Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.”
Christ is the very perfection that came out of the impure to make us pure !! Perhaps your past is not the issue, neither people’s negative words or even your negative thoughts about your self but the mark that defines You is Christ, for behold all things are new!!
Ephesians 2:1
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
So we say: Truth is what God says about You and a lie is what is outside the word of God!!
You are more valuable than many sparrows (Luke 12:6-7), like Naomi, circumstance do not define you, like Uzziah, people’s words don’t make You neither does your past, but God defines who you are, so the psalmist says;
Psalm 119:160
The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.
God’s word is truth, let us reflect upon who He says we are; redeemed, precious, worth more than gold, refined, more than conquerors, forgiven, heads, His ornament, His crown of Glory, a piece of Him manifest, so when You say: I AM a failure, it’s like saying, God is a failure for He Himself is the definition of I AM, You are who you are, God’s perfection !
Prophetic Utterance :
I am the best of God, His perfection , I am His choicest vine, a priceless jewel, justified and cleansed, I win, I conquer and beyond the definition by men and circumstance.
There is a permanent trace of greatness within me.
