At the Mountain of Sinai:

Exodus 20:18
¹⁸And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. ¹⁹And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die. ²⁰And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

In quiet reflection, a puzzle piece fell into place. I realized that God’s revelation to His people wasn’t meant to inspire fear, but to bridge the gap between heaven and earth. His heart beats with a desire to be known, to share His divine nature with those He cherishes.
“I never intended for fear but worship, I long to reveal myself to all and this was made possible through my son Jesus that all may see me through my son …’’

Exodus 6:2-3
² And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: ³And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
JEHOVAH(Hebrew)-Self Existent and Eternal

God desires to reveal Himself to all of us, just as He did with Abraham, Moses, Jacob, Isaac, Samuel, and many others in the Bible. Through Christ Jesus, we have been given the opportunity to transition from a place of fear and trembling as seen on the mountain Sinai incident, to a place of awe and expectation, as seen on the mountain of transfiguration. Jesus makes God’s intention of revealing himself to man possible for He is the revelation of God through whom God has spoken unlike before through the Prophets .

At the Mountain of transfiguration:
Mark 9:14-15
¹⁴And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them. ¹⁵And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him.

When Jesus comes from the mountain of transfiguration, no longer driven by fear, the people are awestruck at his sight, they didn’t tremble nor fear but there was an eager expectation as he says come boldly to the throne of Grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need ( Hebrews 4:6).

John 14:9
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Jesus emphasized this change in perception by declaring that those who have seen the Son have also seen the Father. This statement highlights the intimate connection between God and Christ, as well as the accessibility of God’s presence to all who seek Him. It’s also shows God’s relatability since Jesus was relatable, loving and merciful . Through Him we are able to see that nature And character of God in a way that was not possible before, with Christ we see God eat and dine with humanity, a touch of divinity unto man..

Genesis 32:30
And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

Through Christ we have our Peniel, an encounter with God face to face yet still our life is preserved. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation, the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature.
Through Christ, we can experience a deeper level of communion with God and gain a greater understanding of His love and purpose for us. Let us draw near to Him as He has drawn near to us.

Exodus 20:22-23
²²Then the LORD said to Moses, “This is what you are to tell the Israelites: ‘You have seen for yourselves that I have spoken to you from heaven.²³You are not to make any gods alongside Me; you are not to make for yourselves gods of silver or gold.

We know that God created the world to delight in a creation that worships Him joyfully as the psalmist asserts : Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day (Psalm 96:2). However, when Moses went up the mountain, he returned to find the people worshiping a golden calf, which provoked God’s anger (Exodus 32:1-6). This incident highlights that worship is the primary purpose of God’s creation. God desires us to worship Him alone as shown in the preceding verses where he requires them not to worship idols or any other god. It is just for us to understand God’s nature and come to that place of worship of who He is and this worship is made possible through Christ Jesus.

Deuteronomy 6:13
Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

Prophetic Utterance:
Let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God and we are the people of His pasture. How majestic and glorious is He.
