Ephesians 1:19-23
¹⁹And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, ²⁰Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:²²And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,²³Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
We just heard the sermon of a new creation, and hoping that this word found fertile ground in each and everyone of us. Now having this kind of knowledge, does everything recognize the authority that has been bestowed on and in you?
Matthew 8:28-29
²⁸And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.²⁹And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
The demons were able to recognize the authority on Jesus even without Him saying a word.
We as the disciples of Christ have been given this authority. The Bible says that you are the light of the world. And because you are the light of the world, when you step into a place, you should be able to dispel the darkness in that place
John 1:5
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
2 Kings 13:20-21
²⁰And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.²¹And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
You could say you have fallen short, we all do but even in your unconsciousness your authority should be able to be seen/felt. It’s like being an army commander, you probably have had way too much to drink and you are a disgrace, does that strip away your role as a commander? No..even in your drunken state you will still be able to command your subjects and they will do your instruction to the dot because your authority didn’t leave in your weak moment. Elisha was dead and yet his bones were ale to raise a dead man back to life.
Child of God wear that authority with pride, do not let anything take your identity in Christ away from you.
Luke 1:44
For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
Let whatever you carry be so evident even to the things that have not yet been born or conceived (with this authority you can address imagined upto even uncreated things). John was still in his mother’s womb but was able to recognize the authority that Jesus who wasn’t yet born carried.
The grave/ground even in Jesus’ death could not contain Him. It recognized the authority in Him. How could it hold Him that had created it? It had to give Him up.
Acts 2:24
Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
Likewise as born agains how can we be crying because of the circumstances of life? We are living above the systems of this world, we cannot operate therefore as those that are in the world.
Of course there will be those that even when they recognize the authority in you will still reject it.
Mark 11:13-14
¹³And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.¹⁴And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
It was not the season yet it had put on leaves. When in it’s dormant stage, fig leaves fall off and yet this particular fig had leaves therefore it needed to produce fruit. Jesus had a conversation with this fig and it was defiant to the author of life, how are you unyielding in the presence of majesty?
Some will see your authority and will want to challenge it or question it. Continue to stand in the purpose for which you were called.
Mark 11:27-28
²⁷And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,²⁸And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?
The teachers of the law and Pharisees also recognized that Jesus had an authority on Him that was unlike theirs yet they rejected Him and killed Him.
Prophetic Utterance:
All things present and all things to come recognize the authority which is on me
I walk in the boldness of the fullness of the Godhead bodily
I am a beacon of light to the world
I am born of God,
I live the very life of God manifesting His Power.
I am Glorified in Christ Jesus.
