Matthew 13:54 (AMP)
And after coming to [Nazareth] His hometown, He began teaching them in their synagogue, and they were astonished, and said, “Where did this Man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers [what is the source of His authority]?
Time and time again our Man of God has told us that there is a time that is going to come if it has not yet already, where people will question your source of power/wisdom because of the things that you are doing and the lives that you are touching.
The same was asked of Jesus when He was teaching in the synagogues of His hometown just as the opening verse has explained. People will want to use their canarlity to explain how you do what you do? Which school did you attend to acquire such wisdom that you speak? That is when such questions will arise? Isn’t this so and so’s son? Because tracing back to your lineage, there is no way you are what you are.
Matthew 13:55
Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
Saul was considered a prophet because he was in the company of prophets.
1 Samuel 10:11
¹¹And it came to pass, when all that knew him beforetime saw that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come unto the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?¹²And one of the same place answered and said, But who is their father? Therefore it became a proverb, Is Saul also among the prophets?
This is a question that you will be asked? Who is your father? They know of your natural father but then who is your father…this is bigger than what meets the eye. It is more spiritual because people have noticed something different about you, they have noticed greatness within you.
People will see you raising the dead, they will see you healing the sick doing crazy miracles and they will want to know who your spiritual father is?
1 Samuel 17:57
⁵⁷And as David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, Abner took him, and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand.⁵⁸And Saul said to him, Whose son art thou, thou young man? And David answered, I am the son of thy servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.
Please note that the previous chapter (1 Samuel 16:19) Saul sent for David from his father Jesse. He knew who David’s father was and yet because of David’s achievements, Saul recognized that surely there is someone greater backing up David than his biological father Jesse. There was a something distinct about David that even the King could recognize it.
Brethren, we on the other hand all we have to do is believe in Christ to be able to do the works that Jesus did and even greater things….imagine all you have to do is believe you don’t have to fast for 100days, you don’t have to walk is slow motion, all you have to do is believe.
John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
We have heard the word of God and we have understood His speech. We have sought Him out in the scriptures and we have found Him. We are not like the Pharisees whose father is the devil
John 8:44
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Prophetic Utterance:
My father is a prophet, I will do great things

1 John 3:1
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Amen and Amen, my father is a prophet and I will do great things 🙏
