Daniel 3:17 (Amp)
¹⁷If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king.¹⁸But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up!”
The opening scriptures show us the devotion these young men had to their God. Please note that they were in a foreign land therefore the customs in this land were quiet different from their own. And because of their belief they were sentenced to death by burning in a furnace. Their answer is our focus, they believed that their God was able to rescue them from the furnace of blazing fire but EVEN IF He did not, they were not going to bow down to different beliefs.
Do we as Christians today have this kind of faith? Most assuredly we are living in a time such as these three. Yes ours might not be the furnace of blazing fire literally but our furnace could be the pressure of the world; (what you are willing to do to get that promotion, who you are willing to settle for in marriage because time is running out, what are you willing to do to get that job,) the compromises we yield to here and there.
Do you trust God enough to get you that much desired thing!? But even if say God didn’t come through and there was no microscope around to analyze your decision, would you keep the Christian path or would you bend the knee?
Luke 22:42
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
Jesus understood what His assignment was and yet last minute He wanted to back out but because He knew His purpose and didn’t compromise for a little comfort, this was not about Jesus’s will but the will of Him who sent Him. There would be much to be desired today!!
Reflect within self, the number of times you have compromised for your own comfort, how many people have gottemln hurt or missed their opportunity because you were non committal? How many souls have you stumbled or worse still how many souls have you lost for a temporary gain! Do not forget that you are the Bible that some people get to read ask yourself what are they actually reading?
