The word that calms the storm.
The word that calms the storm.

The word that calms the storm.

Hebrews 1:1-3

¹God, who at sundry times and in diverse manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, ²Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;³Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

The Greek word for “uphold” signifies to bear or carry. It is no surprise, then, that Jesus invites those who are “heavy laden” to come to Him for rest (Matthew 11:28). What manner of man is this, that bears all, sustains all, and gives peace to the troubled soul?”

The very word of God with precision and purpose governs the universe. And just as He guides the cosmos, He directs our paths, orchestrating every detail to fulfill His purpose.

John 1:1-3

¹In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.²The same was in the beginning with God.³All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Jesus demonstrated the potency of His word in remarkable ways: calming the storm with a gentle command, rebuking sickness with a single phrase, and restoring life with a spoken word. The world was framed by His very word, it is this very word that holds the world and makes it, sustaining it to His pre ordained purpose giving us continuity, existence and support of our souls.

Mark 4:37

³⁷And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.³⁸And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?³⁹And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

The ship; It’s truly remarkable how such a heavy and bulky vessel can effortlessly glide across the water’s surface but then amazing how one man can balance the boat / ship.

The boat, in all its wonder, takes me back to the one who holds the world by His word. Science tells us that the shape of the world is circular. How is it possible for us to move on this circular planet without falling?(Yes gravity, but where does gravity come from). It brings to mind Jesus and his disciples on the boat in the midst of a raging storm. With just a word from him, the storm was calmed, and the boat continued to float safely to its destination.

In this chaotic world, it only takes a word from Him to keep the storm.  We can also look back at the story of Noah and his ark, a boat which carried not just one man, but an entire family and pairs of animals. Although facing heavy rains and turbulent waters, remained afloat because every design was as according to God’s word and thus everything in the boat was brought to safety. By His word we are safely held, sustained and have control.

Prophetic Utterance:

When storms come, your word stands strong, piercing every fear.

In awe of Your word, my life is flipped, a change un deniable, never void but  accomplishing that which you purpose, succeeding in the thing for which you sent it, your potent word is my anchor.

I move in a victorious Procession.

Psalms 33:6-9

⁶By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.⁷He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.⁸Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.⁹For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
