The shepherds staff my place of comfort

Psalms 23:1

¹The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

David a man after Gods own heart, in this psalm speaks of his uttermost trust in God, not just as a father, but a protector, defender and director too. A shepherd literally fathers the sheep, decides which direction they should go, which pasture to feed from/on and above all the general wellbeing of the sheep. The sheep’s duty is to trust and obey the guidance of the shepherds staff.

The statement ” i shall not want” shows an absolute trust in God, a total reliance and dependence with no possible alternatives. This is the kind of intimacy that God requires of us his Children, like below…

 Proverbs 23:26

My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

Giving your heart involves laying it all down and withholding nothing, including the minute details of your life, a child like character, thats why Jesus said “Matthew 19:14

But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

There is an innocence about Children, unedited no pretense, a child is not ashamed to ask for anything from their father because they believe their father can do anything and everything, God has given us a name to call Him by” ABBA”, which means father, but you cannot enjoy the benefits of a child until you come to the understanding of your position as a child and the benefits that accrue, our father tells us to come lets reason together, only one who genuinely loves you calls for a reasoning, yet our God not only reasons but gives himself too, the lamb of God( Christ) was not just slain before the foundations of the world but that blood still speaks for us better things than the blood of Abel, a better covenant of Mercy, peace and grace.

John 10:11

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

The shepherd has already laid down His life for the sheep, as a sheep of the fold of Christ, are you willing to unquestionably follow the lead of the shepherd.

Matthew 6:21

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

If the Lord searched your heart and tried your reins today, will He find Himself as the treasure of your heart?

Prophetic Utterance:

The Lord is my shepherd, i shall not want!

I walk in  the way in which my shepherd guides me to and i shall not depart from it!

I hide the word of the Lord in my heart and i allow this word to guide my Path!

As for me and my household we shall serve the Lord!
