Genesis 49:26
²⁶The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors
unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills:
they shall be on the head of Joseph,
and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.
Jacob blesses Joseph and asserts that His blessing ( the blessing of the father ) prevail over those of the fore fathers! How possible is that? This verse highlights the idea that the blessings of God compound and increase with each generation, they aren’t limited or depleted over time but rather grow and multiply transcending time and lineage.
Exodus 3:6 (KJV)
“Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.”
God appears to Moses in a burning bush, commissioning him to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and introduces Himself to Moses as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. This pronouncement reminds us of the patriarchal blessings presenting God as a promise keeper to future generations.
Genesis 49:26 affirms this truth, declaring that the blessings of Joseph’s father surpassed those of his ancestors, extending to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills.
He is the God of the living, the covenant was sustained through Abraham to Isaac then Jacob culminating unto Christ which presents transcendence by boundaries. The continual manifest blessing of God is presented as ever increasing all over Gods word both materially and spiritually.
Galatians 3:7
Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
The scriptures say I will do exceedingly much more than you think (Eph 3:20), even when you are thinking of the flourishing of your forefather, He does more than He did to and with your fathers. By faith receive this truth and busk in Gods Glory.
Galatians 3:29
And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Abraham flourished but Isaac flourished the more, nevertheless Jacob saw God’s exceeding abundance… Elisha saw more works of God than Elijah, a man whose dead bones resurrected the dead.
John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Become an active participant in the Kingdom of God, Jesus tells us we will do greater things than He did, have You begun doing! Following after the scriptures.
2 Peter 1:4
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
We have the privilege to do exceeding works, and in so doing we are part of the solution manifesting greater works and mighty deeds.
The patriarchs flourished amidst famine, opposition, trickery but you will much more flourish amidst all odds even above all manner of peril because You have partaken of divine nature not just received a blessing.
Galatians 3:26-27
²⁶For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. ²⁷For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
God’s presence and power will be manifest in unprecedented ways, a greater move of God starts with You, our father is a God of new, each day and time expect God to come through for you and in you in greater dimensions.
As believers, we often reflect on God’s past blessings and miracles, but we must not confine God to yesterday’s works.
Isaiah 42:9
Behold, the former things are come to pass,
and new things do I declare:
before they spring forth I tell you of them.
God is always doing new and greater in our lives. As in our text, God unguaranteed a restored Israel, not as before but far greater than the past.
Prophetic Utterance:
I Live the abundant life. I am a conduit of the life of God overflowing with blessings, Manifesting the Aura of His favour unto all, His goodness is in me for I am of divine nature.
I carry the perfect fragrance of Gods knowledge.
I am still the best of God and always will be.
