Offense; a breach of a law or rule; an illegal act.
Worship- it’s a way of life that reflects a deep, reverent love and devotion to God. It is an inward attitude of the heart, not just an outward display.
Isaiah 29:13 AMP
And the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips but remove their hearts and minds far from Me, and their fear and reverence for Me are a commandment of men that is learned by repetition [without any thought as to the meaning],
Our opening scripture is a complaint from God to Isaiah. It shows a type of worship where we are simply in the presence of God for show or routine because that is what has been taught to us (doctrine) We believe that if we walk a certain way (slow motion) and wail while praying a certain way then that is true worship. The Lord condemns this type of lip service
He requires that they that worship Him should worship in spirit and in truth.
Spirit..being that there is no you left…no title, no degrees, nothing that you identify yourself with here on earth.
Truth is the word of God (sanctify them with your word, for your word is truth John 17:17) …such are they that God is seeking to worship Him
John 4:23
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
The Lord deserves and demands true worship and He is worthy of it all. True worship is from the heart, offered without distractions, without awareness of self, it is simply offered to an audience of one where all else fades away and He alone is your entire focus.
Leviticus 10:1-2
¹And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.²And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
True worship also is obedience to the word of God. The Bible says that if we say we truly Love God, we should keep His commandments
John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Nadab and Abihu were set apart by God. Among the Levites God chose Aaron and his sons to minister unto Him. Obedience is paramount even when you have been called and set apart by God. Nadab and Abihu were killed because of their disobedience to the command of God.
Matthew 21:13
And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
We are the temple of the Holy Spirit, we are the tabernacle where God has decided to dwell however instead of being true worshippers, we have made our relationship with God transactional.
We have reduced God to only material things and it’s sad that these things aren’t even that big… husband/wife, house, baby, car, money. Atleast least 90% of prayers revolve around that but is that all God can do?
And if these delay to come, some start questioning God…do you really love me (vain prayers)…You live your life serving God as a wounded Christian because you have not yet received that which you want instead of seeking to know His heart and will for you.
If you cannot love God without that man you cannot love Him even when the man comes
Prophetic Utterance:
I will abide in you because all I ever want is in you
My eyes are open to see the wondrous things in your word
I seek to know Your heart, I seek to know Your ways
I am but Your vessel, use me
