Mathew 8:23-26
²³And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.²⁴And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he (Jesus) was asleep. ²⁵And His disciples came to Him, and awoke Him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. ²⁶And He saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then He arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.”
Even as we follow Jesus, there will be storms in the safety of His presence, even on a boat that does not sink yet doubt will arise.
it is of utmost importance to keep our focus on Jesus even thoughit appeared that He is asleep, He is the one who calms the storm and brings us peace, beyond what we perceive or even can with our perceptions.
John 14:27
²⁷Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Just as Peter was able to walk on water when he kept his eyes fixed on Jesus, we too are overcomers in the face of any challenge before us.
We too can cruise through the storm without wavering; we can fight the good fight to finish the race as Paul did regardless of what comes by.(Mathew 14:22-33)
Once our gaze is fixed on Him, we can overcome as He did because there is nothing He did not go through that we cannot. In Him, we find solace and strength in the diversity of life.
Jesus is our source of hope and our ultimate prize, and by keeping our eyes on Him, we can navigate through any trial with faith if we persevere.
Isaiah 45:22
²²Look to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.
Amid a stormy sea, when fear gripped Peter, all he needed was to fix his gaze on Jesus, the one who saves. When poisonous snakes smote Israel, those who fixed their gaze on the bronze snake were saved for it symbolised Christ (John 3:14).
For in every trial and test, in every storm and unrest, all we need is to fix our eyes on Jesus, our salvation, hope, and prize.
Prophetic Utterance :
I will run and not grow weary with eyes fixed on Jesus. My salvation is assured. My peace is certain. My prize is set.
