Beholding the New

Isaiah 43:19

¹⁸Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.¹⁹Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Remember ye not the former things: Let go of the memories of slavery, that old life, and the routines of servitude. God can do bigger and more, God will do extra from the ordinary (Ephesians 3:20). Behold He will do what you have never experienced.

Apparently God wants us to stop looking back at the past as it have nothing much to it. Lot’s wife became a pillar of salt when she looked back (Genesis 19:26). Forget about your generations that didn’t achieve success, or the dreams that seemed to slip away: Behold, I will do a new thing says the Lord.

The Greek word for “behold” is (idē), which is derived from the verb (idein) which means “to see”, “to perceive”

The implication is to draw attention to something significant God is orchestrating. However, this revolution cannot be fully grasped by mere surface-level observation, rather, it necessitates a shift in perspective, one must go beyond the physical into the spiritual to truly comprehend the magnitude of what God is doing.

Have you ever seen a rock bring forth water? It sounds like an illusion, but Moses struck that rock and water flowed forth.

Have you ever seen the Red Sea part? Have you ever seen a man survive a fiery furnace and remain unscathed? Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did. Have you ever seen food fall from heaven-tasting like honey? Manna fell from heaven. Lepers were made whole, blind eyes saw, lame legs walked, deadly snakes were handled without harm, and dead men came back to life. No wonder the Samaritan woman said, ‘Come and see a man who has told me everything about myself’ It was new to her and no one had ever precisely dug into her past.

Deuteronomy 8:15-16

¹⁵”Who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land, where there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock; ¹⁶Who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do you good in the end”

God is doing something new in your life. He paves a path where there’s none. He turns the impossible into possible. In the trenches of trials and tribulations, our vision can get blurry but God remains steadfast, continually crafting things anew in our lives. With great precision He’s engineering the impossible, weaving together a naturally impossible  reality for us.

Ephesians 4:23

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

We often limit God and His power with our own limited thinking. We become stagnant and complacent, settling for what is common and on the past instead of stepping out in faith, trusting that God has something new and greater in store for us. A renewed mind has a greater capacity to see from a higher perspective and so we are encouraged in God.

As we meditate on His promises and truth ( Joshua 1:8), it becomes easier to perceive the new thing God is doing because our minds are aligned with His.

Prophetic Utterance:

“In the midst of uncertainty and weariness, I declare that the Lord is renewing my strength. Like eagles, i soar into new heights, leaving the weight of past struggles behind. My steps are revitalized, My heart is refreshed, and my spirit is rejuvenated.”

Guiding Text:
