Psalms: 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
To be still is to quiet your mind and heart in acknowledging His sovereignty or control.
When your mind seems frazzled and uncertainty creeps in, we tend to frantically look in all directions for solutions, nevertheless, realise that at most we have no control of certain things in our life and need to surrender Into Gods control.
Genesis 2:21-22
²¹And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.²²Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
Adam was asleep and awoke to something new , I wonder how he felt: Was he startled in awe ? Or perhaps got alarmed!
Adam when asleep was more like in an anesthetic state prepared for transformative surgery. The question would be: Why did God wait for Adam to sleep!
In your active state you can hinder the works of the surgical procedure but much more it is to numb you from the pangs that would be, So God put him in that still state so that He can do what He intended to do.
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
In that still state, God is able to work out something beautiful, no wonder it says be still and Know that I am God. In the stillness we are able to hear His voice and guidance like Elijah: As he hid there in utter fear, wondering what next.
We see that in the quiet, God is speaking no matter the lightnings, thunderings and earthquakes in the rattles of life, Simply shutout all and focus on Christ the epitome of peace.
Isaiah 30:15
For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”
In being still we are able to enter into a deeper trust, and abiding rest that gives Him room to take the lead and make clear the way ahead.
In the still we are able to regain strength through His assured guidance, as we ponder on His word and His being, you are able to be strengthened when we rest in His assured promises which are yes and Amen.
Prophetic Utterance:
“My heart is not proud, Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. But I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content. “
