Mark 10:46-52
⁴⁶blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.⁴⁷And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.⁴⁸And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.⁴⁹And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.⁵⁰And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.⁵¹And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. ⁵²And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
Here is the blind man in search for mercy, he calls out to Jesus but He is discouraged by the mob nevertheless, he persistently continues to call out because everybody seems to be concerned about themselves, so if you are not concerned about yourself to ignore the critism, then you will surely stay in your un desirable state. Because He persisted , he leaped with joy.
No one knows the pain you have been through, the countless times you have been dreaming of it to end, no body cares ,no body is truely concerned whether you excel or not, but it’s up to you to get out of your way and call upon Jesus, the son of David, knowing that none can come to your rescue except Him and only Him.
People can be selfish as to care about themselves, but it takes courage, determination to get to where you want to, regardless of what people say, just keep focused, persevere until you get that which you are yearning for. His cry out to Jesus seemed like empty noise, irritating to many but to Jesus it was a cry of mercy, truely He is mercy Him self, that even when the rest can’t perceive your condition, He perceives it and is compassionate about it and goes an extra mile to attend to You. And when Jesus called Him he leaped, it is a leap of joy.
Beloved, I know countless words have been spoken to put you down, to kill the zeal, whether it be a business or whatever, you will surely leap with joy, remember there is one who is concerned about your affairs, the master of mercy, at whose sound a leap of joy is, because therein is a breakthrough.
Throw off your garment of sorrow, take off that garment of failure, take a leap, it is Jesus, didn’t you hear the voice, it is Him that sparks a leap of Joy, where failure seizes and success is, where blindness finds its sight and all is light even where everything darkened turns to light. Jesus is the fulfilled promise, the son of David in whom the sure mercies of God are passed unto us, cling to Him, pursue and continue until you get a hold of him, a sure leap of joy.
