The God of the Living: Exceeding Abundance

Genesis 49:26

²⁶The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

Jacob blesses Joseph and asserts that His blessing ( the blessing of the father ) prevail over those of the fore fathers! How possible is that?  The blessings of God compound and increase with each generation, they aren’t limited or depleted over time but rather grow and multiply transcending time and lineage.

Exodus 3:6 (KJV)

“Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.”

God appears to Moses in a burning bush, commissioning him to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and introduces Himself to Moses as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We see a consistent God that is faithful. He is the one who carries out His promises to future generations. Meanwhile, Genesis 49:26 affirms this truth, declaring that the blessings of Joseph’s father surpassed those of his ancestors, extending to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills.

He is the God of the living, the covenant was carried on through Abraham to Isaac then Jacob until Jesus who lives in You. The God of the fathers is greater than the God of the fore fathers, He says I will do exceedingly much more than you think , even when you are thinking of the flourishing of your forefather, He does more than He did to your father…

Abraham flourished but Isaac flourished the more, we see Jacob guarantee God’s exceeding abundance to his children in blessing them…

Isaiah 42:9

See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.”

As believers, we often reflect on God’s past blessings and miracles, but we must not limit Him to yesterday’s works.

As long as we are in God, we are limitless, dare God and see and live His abundant life, manifesting great blessings.

Prophetic Utterance:

God’s promise of abundant life is my reality.

I am a conduit of God’s abundance, overflowing with blessings,

Established in His favour, even as His goodness  pursues me.
