Acts 7:32
Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.
God consistently refers to Himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, highlighting His unwavering faithfulness and unrelenting commitment to His covenant promises. Despite the seemingly impossible circumstances of Abraham’s barrenness, God intervened, blessing him with Isaac, a miraculous son.
Throughout Abraham’s story, we witness God’s faithfulness amidst adversity, including famine. This legacy of blessing continued through Isaac, Jacob, and ultimately, Jesus Christ – the ultimate Seed of Abraham.
As covenant children, we inherit these blessings through faith. Galatians 3:29 says, “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
Acts 3:25
You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’
God’s covenant transcends generations, bridging past, present, and future. As Hebrews 13:8 affirms, “He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
As adopted sons and daughters, we inherit covenant promises, securing our legacy. We shouldn’t settle for mediocrity, for we are children of the covenant. When we call upon God, He will come through, just as He did for Israel in their affliction (Exodus 2:24-25).
As covenant children, we are sons yet fathers, carrying the blessing forward. Jacob, a son of Isaac, became a father, passing down the legacy (Genesis 28:13-15). We continue this legacy, imparting faith and values to future generations.
Your circumstances don’t define you; your identity in Christ does. Rise above challenges, awakened to your true identity as a child of the covenant. Jacob, despite toiling under Laban, remained blessed (Genesis 29-31). He toiled yet He was blessed, like a prodigal son, we stray forgetting the benefits of our father and who we are.
1 kings 2:3
And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:
King David’s charge to David to walk in the precepts of Moses shows of how we should walk in the steps of our fathers to embrace a life of prosperity.
when we look at the life of those fathers we notice that they were tremendously blessed even amidst famine, despite the crowds , they still followed God. As a child of the covenant, God desires us to be in intimacy with Him as a loving father ( Romans 8:14-17).
Genesis 25:8
Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people
The biblical accounts of patriarchs, such as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, reveal a consistent pattern: their lives were marked by faithfulness, and at the end, they lived “full of years” (Genesis 35:28-29), lacking nothing. This repetition of events highlights God’s unwavering commitment to His people.
So when God declares that He is God of the fathers: He also shows Himself faithful and abounding. He is everything we need to flourish in life as we keep grafted in Him ( John 15) and so will the scripture that says i willl bless you in the city and in the country be expressly evident. His promises are continuously existent as He himself is the God of the living and we living testimonies of His timeless promises.
Mathew 22:32
I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Ja cob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living
Prophetic Utterance :
“And because yee are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your your hearts crying Abba. Wherefore art no more a servant but a son but if a son then a heir of Christ.”
I am a child of God, adopted into His family.
I am an heir of Christ, joint-heir to His promises.
I walk in the authority and inheritance that is mine.
