I will not hold my peace!
Mark 10:46-48
⁴⁶And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.⁴⁷And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.⁴⁸And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
There are times in the life of a believer where holding your peace is to your detriment, just like in the days of blind bartimaeus, Jesus is always moving around in our vicinity but it is up to you to leave your comfort zone and cry out to him irrespective of the circumstances and people who try to shut you down, like the bible tells us to go to Christ, all who are weary and heavy laden and we shall shall receive rest, we go to Christ through taking an initiative to believe, to cry out, to perform actions of faith , to call out but not just sitting around and becoming complacbartiand remain in strange situations. Even the word of God let’s us know how from the days of John the Baptist, the Kingdom of God suffers violence and the violent take it by force. In the early church we see how the believers refused to hold their peace through making intercession and prayer day and night for the release of peter by king herod after he had killed James and now had imprisoned Peter. There is a high chance that Peter could have been killed like James if the believers had done nothing.
Acts 12:2-3,5,7
²And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.³And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
⁵Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
⁷And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
Likewise the woman with the issue of Blood broke protocol by first of all coming out amongst a crowd while she was considered unclean according to the law of Moses, she went ahead and stretched out her hand and touched a ‘man’ Jesus , she squeezed through the crowd against all odds because at that stage holding her peace was to her detriment, when she had a chance to push through and touch Jesus and get healed, She represents situations in our lives where not holding our peace is no longer an option, a realm where shame, pride, and self doesn’t exist but the pure desire of a Child to touch the Mercy, love and heart of their Father while knowing that ,The Father’ is a rewarder of they that diligently seek Him and having the knowledge that we do not have a high priest who is not touched by the feelings of our infirmities.
Prophetic Utterance:
Father, I will not let you go until you bless me!
In the name of Jesus, I will not hold my peace until I become what your word says about me!
With Boldness I stand in the throne of grace to receive Mercy at my time of need
Hallelujah!
Guiding Scripture:
Luke 18:1-5
¹And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;²Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:³And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.⁴And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;⁵Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
