The unlikely Chosen one: A limitless Grace

Luke 1:28-31
And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.²⁹And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.³⁰And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.³¹And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.

One may wonder why God chooses certain individuals or even us for specific purposes. Perhaps Mary, the mother of Jesus, asked herself the same question, needless to say; her response was one of willingness and obedience: “Be it unto me…” (Luke 1:38). Mary’s willingness to accept God’s call despite her own limitations and doubts, demonstrates the essence of God’s choosing.

God’s choice is not based on our worthiness or abilities, but on His sovereign will. He is a God of grace, not partiality. Mary was chosen not because of her virginity, but because she was part of the fulfillment of prophecy regarding the virgin birth.
As the scripture reminds us, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) and the Psalmist also acknowledges, “In sin did my mother conceive me” (Psalm 51:5). Ecclesiastes 7:20 also states, “There is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.” Even Mary, the mother of Jesus, was not immune to imperfection.
It’s not about our worthiness, abilities, or background; rather, it’s about God’s gracious nature/will

We are the testimony of the verse that says; Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Samson was chosen right from birth , his life wasn’t perfect , he messed up at some point but God’s grace is not limited to our flaws. The samaritan woman who was an outcast, Paul who once a persecuter, David the “murderer” , Jacob the “cheat ” nevertheless God saw fit to choose them and turn their lives around. God’s grace transcends our limitations and weaknesses. His redemption and forgiveness know no bounds, and He can turn even the most imperfect lives into vessels of honor.
You are a deliberate choice , not a random one, crafted with precision and purpose. A masterpiece of divine design, ordained for a life of radiant glory. In the tapestry of humanity, you are a unique thread, woven by God’s hand, chosen to illuminate the world, and reflect the brilliance of His splendor.

Judges 6:15
“‘But Lord,’ Gideon replied, ‘how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!’

God’s intention is that we shouldn’t rely on our own abilities or strengths. He often works through human frailty, demonstrating that our worthiness is not the determining factor. It’s not about how much we think we’re capable or how much we analyze our own worthiness. As seen in Gideon’s story, he came from the weakest family, yet God chose him. It doesn’t matter if you’re the weakest or the strongest, or if you have limitations like Moses’ speech impediment. Even Jesus, the King of kings, was born in a humble manger. Your background, abilities, or birthplace are not obstacles to God’s plan for your life.

Prophetic Utterance :

I am redeemed , I am summoned , I am the Lord’s best choice.

Guiding Text:

1 Corinthians 1:27
“Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.”

Isaiah 43:1
“But now, this is what the Lord says… ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.'” We are reminded that we are chosen by God, not because of our own merits, but because of His love and redemption.
