John 9:6-7 KJV
⁶When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, ⁷And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
He spat on the ground and made clay! The scene seems disgusting and unimaginable, yet Jesus goes beyond all that. Regardless of how foolish it seemed, He still did it. Remember, Jesus once said He does nothing on His own except what He sees the Father do.
John 5:19 (KJV)
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you; The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: For what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
If Jesus had used His logic, the blind man wouldn’t have received his healing. If the blind man had used his logic, He wouldn’t have received back His sight. Anyone would have felt mocked by the instruction but the blind man trusted in Jesus’ work.
Paul queries: “Can a thing that was formed question His maker?” (Romans 9:20-21). Trust that God is working something out behind the scenes in His wisdom. God knows what He is doing in His power, He can do exceedingly abundantly above all we can imagine, all in His goodness. He is faithful till the end.
We should learn to trust and do what God instructs us to do, no matter how illogical it seems because it is in the unimaginable that we experience the supernatural. Trust is total surrender to God’s will and desire, being confident in His plan and purpose in obedience even when it seems unreasonable.
Psalms 20:7 – 8
⁷Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. ⁸They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
It seems logical to go to war in our era, armed with chariots or guns. However, it is illogical to go without them. Gideon’s story illustrates this: he was instructed to go into battle with fewer men (Judges 7:1-8). Yet, the most beautiful thing we can offer God is trust – a total reliance on Him. Trust in His wisdom, for He knows what He is doing. Trust in His Word, which is sure and firm (Hebrews 4:12). Trust in His character, for He is just and faithful.
Abraham trusted in God’s provision and the promise, Gideon trusted in God’s unconventional strategy, David trusted in God’s power despite overwhelming odds and Mary trusted in God’s word, saying, ‘Behold, the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word’ (Luke 1:38).
1 Samuel 17:45-47
“Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and the whole earth shall know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hands.”
Arise beyond your fears and doubts, set aside your thoughts, rethink and redefine and set yourself up for God’s unpredictable supernatural. He will do it, not the way you think it but His way.
Prophetic Utterance :
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.
