Psalm 69:1-3
Save me, O God; For the waters are come in unto my soul. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: Mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.
There are times in our lives when everything seems to be falling apart in just one moment, what you feared most has come to you, what you believed doesn’t make sense anymore. No one wants to be in such a place.
Job 3:25
For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, And that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
You’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting and weary from saying, “God, when will this end? God, when will you provide in this way or that way?”
Let’s look at David’s response in such moments, a man who had many victories and yet faced extreme troubles but didn’t give up on God. In his pain, He remained in God’s presence singing, crying, and praying. He wept, but stayed. What a response! Indeed He is a man after God’s heart.
In our theme psalm, David’s in trouble, and described his sorrows as a “drowning”. The floodwaters have risen to his neck. He’s cried out to God for help to the point that his throat hurts. Throughout David’s life, thousands of enemies have tried to kill him, even one of his own sons.
But we learn from verse 16, that one thing that David remains conscious of; are the mercies of God. In Psalm 69:16 he says; Hear me, O LORD; for thy loving-kindness is good: Turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
In times of uncertainty seek God’s mercies!
Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Now, when I catch myself worrying, i bring myself to remembrance; “I am the one that God loves, I am the apple of His eye”. And something beautiful happens. The Holy Spirit reassures me of God’s promises that He knows, cares, and is with me, and has the power to resolve what I’m facing. If I revert to inner grumbling, the Lord is one thought away. He is so merciful! However weak you might feel, remain conscious of God in you.
2 Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
Prophetic Utterance:
In you, O LORD, do I put my trust: I am never put to confusion. You are my strong habitation, I continually resort to you, my rock and my fortress. With the your Word in me, I triumph gloriously, reigning and prevailing over circumstances. I’m a victor forever, because You are my riddance. You rid me of any trouble and lead me triumphantly from glory to glory. Amen.
