Mathew 7:7-8
⁷Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: ⁸For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
To seek means to look, search and also holds with it a sense of worship.
We love the comfort and ease of a prophetic word from another, its so beautiful, the comfort of another seeking God for you but what if we come to that place of taking the first initiative to seek God as priority.
2 Kings 4:18-22
¹⁸And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.¹⁹And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.²⁰And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.²¹And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.²²And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.
The shunamite woman when she had lost her miracle child that was granted her through ELISHA, sought the man of God, the chariot of Israel, a figure of God, she took the initiative to seek, she didn’t sit to sob, lament, wail, murmur, perhaps she did wail but soon got up to seek her source and soon her child was restored back to life. Surely as the psalmist testifies:
Psalms 34:4-5
⁴I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. ⁵They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
She hastily took a donkey to seek for the man of God, a picture of God, it was her first option, no second thoughts for she knew the source of what she had. We hastily seek for solutions in the wrong places and tarry getting the right solutions yet if we are quick to seek God, He tarries not but responds and in our persistence will be a certainty of His response. Elisha prayed seven times until the boy came back to life.
When You seek God He can respond either directly through You or another, it’s beautiful to seek God and regarding what you seek He answers… for He says seek me and you will find me if you search for me with all your heart. Surely unless you seek for something with determination and whole heartedly, you won’t find!
Jeremiah 29:13-14
¹³And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.¹⁴And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
When you search for me with all your heart: If it be worship or prayer, or word on Meditation, let it be in sync with Him then a breaking forth will be.
We don’t seek God because He is lost but because He is there waiting to be sought and found.
Seek Him regarding a matter: He will solve.
Seek Him regarding a confusion: It shall be clarified.
Seek him regarding anything: He will answer.
If you have a query and you don’t take the initiative to seek by all means, you may never find the answer to the query, it’s okay to ask God what is the way forward regarding my family, my work place, my ABC, He does surely provide a way. A treasure not sought is never found.
Proverbs 3:6
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Deuteronomy 29:29
The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
Whatever God reveals is to your advantage and purpose, yet whatever He withholds is yet for a purpose, it is up to us to dive into the deep secrets of God and in seeking we find !!
We admire people that seem to have it all together outwardly but that comes from a solid foundation of faith developed and built over the years on God, God’s word.
Your outward glow comes from the stability You have inside.
Prophetic Utterance:
“One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent, He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.”
In my seeking, You are there, Your face is radiant over me, releasing to me answers I know not, understanding sought, wisdom found so grand
I am complete in God.
