Can you recognize the anointing on someone’s life regardless of who they are or what they do?
If someone came to you, even without them mentioning a word, would you look beyond the physical to see the anointing they are carrying?
Luke 7:24-26
²⁴And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind? ²⁵But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts. ²⁶But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.
John is described as a man that lived in the wilderness and wore animal skin and his food was locusts and honey but the anointing he carried, Jesus testifies that he was not just a prophet but more than a prophet.
Many people moved from towns to the wilderness to hear John speak but how many really went for the word? It’s possible that some looked at him as a tourist attraction, others as a mad man but others recognized the voice that was speaking behind John.
1 Samuel 17:28
²⁸And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.
Eliab a Soldier in King Saul’s army, Was Jesse’s first born positioned to be an heir, was the 1st identified by Prophet Samuel to be anointed King but the Lord rejected Him, He was present when Samuel anointed David King over Israel but even if he wasn’t, his eyes were so closed to see beyond a young shepherd boy. He looked down on David and failed to recognize that he was to be the next King? What went you out to see? A shepherd boy bringing you food or the next chosen King of Israel?
1 Kings 19:18-19
Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.¹⁹So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.
Among the 7000 prophets that had not bowed unto Baal, none was fit to take on the mantle of Elijah except a young man who was minding his business plowing in the field. Elijah was quick to recognize beyond the farm boy that he was more than capable to take on his mantle.
2 Kings 9:11-13
¹¹Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication.¹²And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel.¹³Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.
Are you able to recognize the authority in a mad prophet? That even when he anointed you his word is as good as done? If the people around you are not able to see as you see, they are in big trouble. The men that served Jehu also recognized the anointing on the mad prophet and didn’t question.
Luke 2:27-29
And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,²⁸Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,²⁹Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
What went you out to see? Are you able to see God in a babe? Immediately Simeon took the child in his arms he was able to tell that this was the one that the prophets of old prophesied about and he was content that he had seen the Lord.
Are you content enough to see God in the people around you? For you, is it enough or do you want to wait for another just like John said?
Luke 7:19
And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
Prophetic Utterance:
My eyes are illuminated to see God in everyone He sends to me
I manifest Christ for everyone around me to see,
The anointing I carry cannot be hidden.
I am a Giant slayer sent to serve God’s people.

¹⁷That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:¹⁸The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,¹⁹And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,²⁰Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,²¹Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
