2 Timothy 1:9
⁹Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
He has saved us and called us to a Holy Life: When the adulteress woman was graciously not condemned by Christ after she was paraded in an attempt to stone her for the acts, Jesus instructs her to sin no more !!
John 8:11
…And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
His grace is not a pass to sin freely, for as surely as Paul asks, should we sin more that grace may abound, and retorts with God forbid!!
Romans 6:1-2
¹What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? ²God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
The PHILIPs version beautifully asserts; Now what is our response to be? Shall we sin to our heart’s content and see how far we can exploit the grace of God? What a ghastly thought! We, who have died to sin, how could we live in sin a moment longer?
Have you forgotten that all of us who were baptised into Jesus Christ were by that very action sharing in his death? We were dead and buried with him in baptism, so that just as he was raised from the dead by that splendid Revelation of the Father’s power so we too might rise to life on a new slate altogether. If we have shared his death, let us rise and live our new lives with him! Let us never forget that our old selves died with him on the cross that the tyranny of sin over us might be broken—for a dead man can safely be said to be immune to the power of sin.
A dead man can’t sin rather, be a new regenerated man, He walks not after the appeal of sin but is alive and sensitive to the call of God through Jesus Christ our Lord, a call to a holy Life!
This grace is given unto us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time!! Yes it is before the beginning of time.
When Adam and Eve fell, God had a redemption plan already, He didn’t have a back up plan but He had the way out, the very blue print for man’s life, and thus clothed them with animal skin, a sacrifice that fore shadowed the greatest sacrifice of the lamb of God to atone for our sins.
Genesis 3:21
For Adam also and for his wife the Lord God made long coats (tunics) of skins and clothed them.
When God clothed Adam and Eve with the animal skin, a clothe allegoric of the righteousness of Christ, shows that our life must be lived in a way that shows He has clothed us with Himself, and we ought to move and manifest the fruit of His righteousness!! It is a grace that enables us to overcome sin for where once we chased after sin amd now in grace, we no more chase after it rather we overcome in Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:56-57
⁵⁶It is sin that gives death its sting and the law that gives sin its power. ⁵⁷But we thank God for giving us the victory as conquerors through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One.
Prophetic Utterance:
I am more than a conqueror through Christ’s availed Grace , I am beyond sin and made perfect in Him.
Winning is my lifestyle because Jesus won it all for me.
Father thank for giving us this Victory of liberty .
In Christ I am free indeed.
