1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing.
The word, “Pray without ceasing” requires that you dwell in prayer at every second if possible. When there is a man to pray, there is a God to answer.
On a given Sunday, while giving us guidelines on how to pray, the good doctor shared that we should pray effectual prayers and this is through praying using the word of God and praying in the Spirit. She additionally added that we should pray fervently… with zeal.
The Bible says that God will not do anything until He has revealed it to His servant the prophet.
Amos 3:7
Surely, the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
God will not hide what He is going to do until He has revealed it unto you (His friend)
Genesis 18:17
And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham [My friend and servant] what I am going to do, [Gal. 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.]
God is the most vocal being ever but you need to be swift to hear, slow to speak, and able to discern whose voice you are hearing (My sheep know my voice).
Abraham stood in the gap for Sodom and Gomorrah until he did not. He stopped praying at 10 people. When he stopped inquiring of God, the Bible says that God left him. Had he continued per adventure God would have saved the city. (Genesis 18:22-33)
We still see God’s loving kindness towards his friend Abraham and because of Abraham’s prayer, Lot was saved.
Genesis 19:29
And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in which Lot dwelt.
Moses stood in the gap for the Israelites when God wanted to destroy them.
Exodus 32:1-14
God would still have fulfilled His promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob because Moses and all the Israelites were their descendants. God promised that He would bring them out of Egypt and into the Promised Land. God does not make half-promises. Yes, He had brought the Israelites out of Egypt, but there was the other half of His promise of entering the Promised Land.
Pray without ceasing. You have been made watchers, been given the authority to uproot, tear down, and break that which you do not agree with.
Jeremiah 1:10
See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
Therefore, walk in the God-given authority within you.
Luke 10:19
Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.
One other thing to note is that you can have power and not authority. On whose authority are you working? Are we able to recognize the authority under which we submit?
A bodybuilder has power but depending on who he is, he could lack authority. You can have the muscle and yet a small person can take you down. However, when it comes to a man with authority and power, you stand no chance. You will see him from far off and run or give honour where honour is due, just like the man with 6000 demons.
That is why when Jesus went into the land of the gardarenes, the man possessed of evil spirits saw Him from afar and recognized Him, even before He said a word (before He exercised power). He recognised the authority in Him. That is how you are viewed in the spiritual realm as one who knows who He is and one who does not. On this day, choose which man you will be.
Prophetic Utterance:
I stand at the gates of the city as a watcher and have the authority to accept and deny entry to that which does not agree with me.
I am a hammer and a battle-axe in the hand of God.
I have been chosen to depopulate hell and populate heaven
I fulfil my mandate because ALL things have been given unto me.
I rightly know how to exercise my authority.
