Mark 10:46-52
⁴⁶And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. ⁴⁷And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. ⁴⁸And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. ⁴⁹And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. ⁵⁰And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. ⁵¹And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. ⁵²And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
When he heard it was Jesus: Have you heard your source and identified He could be your ‘big break’, there is alot we hear , about many who can do wonders but what grips your heart to seize the moment.This man could have heard about the likes of Simon the socerer, famous witches and doctors but nevertheless, He held onto grab the sound of Jesus. Is it the voice, the person, or the personality, maybe a knowledge or the revelation!!
The question is, what have you heard, what do you know and how have you responded?There are many voices but choose one out of revelation knowledg.
He heard of wonders, he heard the scriptures, being a man caught up in bondage for countless years, he must have been on the waited in broken hope for the man called the son of David, the promise, in whom is a leap of joy, like a calf breaking out of bondage, His beams of light shine forth releasing many. Yes he must have heard from the scriptures and its prophetic affirmations.
Malachi 4:2
But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
It takes the obvious to know the obvious, these people were following Jesus but never probably grabed the revelation of him, they discouraged the physically blind man who was not spiritually blind, reproving him to keep still or stop calling Jesus ( Mark:10:48).
Matthew 12:22-25
²²Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. ²³And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David? ²⁴But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. ²⁵And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
Even the one that knew the law were blind to see that the very Messiah they were in wait of was addressing them, meanwhile the blind man in view of a deeper understanding(faith) ‘saw’ and heard it, believed it and called unto Jesus as Son of David, be not deceived, this was not faith that revealed this but the spirit of revelation that the Pharisees were devoid of.
The question is , what have you heard and what do you know and how have you responded!
Seize the moment, cry out to ThevSon of David. We know that even demons recorgnised Jesus as the one but have not opportunity to repent, religious people like the Pharisees use head knowledge and great passions but practice contrary things to their damnation.
Isaiah 42:8
am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images
Many ‘knowledgeable’ ignorant ones will be humbled.
Psalms 110:1
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Prophetic Utterance:
I have believed and testified of Jesus son of David, I will walk in His righteousness, for He is all things true.
